The goals of the healthcare professionals at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital’s Oncology/Infusion Services are to provide the highest quality of care, comfort and convenience for their patients with cancer. The medical director for the Oncology/Infusion Services is Shakir Sarwar, MD, who is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine. The team also includes O’Bleness registered nurses who are trained to administer chemotherapy and other infusions.

Patients can ask their physicians to schedule an appointment at O’Bleness with Dr. Sarwar, who is affiliated with Hematology/Oncology Consultants, Inc. in Columbus. Dr. Sarwar will evaluate and treat patients with all types of cancers as well as patients with blood disorders at O’Bleness.

The Oncology/Infusion Services are located on the hospital’s third floor. The remodeled suite is dedicated to serving patients who need a variety of infusions and features a soothing atmosphere with reclining chairs designed for patient comfort. Portable DVD players and a selection of movies are available to help entertain patients during therapy. The Suite also offers a resource library of information about cancer.
