Patient Accounting Staff
Patient accounting representatives can assist you with questions about your hospital bill and help you interpret financial policies and billing procedures at the hospital. Patient Accounting can be reached by calling extension 9363 if your last name begins with A through K or extension 9277 if your last name begins with L through Z. The department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If You Have Health Insurance
If you have health insurance, we will be happy to help you by billing your insurance company directly. Your insurance company may require that you submit a claim form and that preauthorization, precertification or a second opinion be obtained before your hospital stay. It is your responsibility to make sure that the requirements of your plan have been met. You will be asked to authorize the hospital to release medical information to your insurance company and to authorize your insurance company to make payment to the hospital. You are responsible for deductible and coinsurance amounts and any charges not covered by your policy.

If you wish to discuss special credit arrangements for charges not covered by insurance, please contact the hospital Credit Office by dialing extension 9272 from your hospital room or by calling (740) 592-9272 from outside the hospital.

In addition, financial assistance may be available for patients with health insurance coverage. For information, contact our Credit Office.

If You Do Not Have Health Insurance
Patients without hospital insurance coverage who are scheduled for admission in advance are expected to make an advance deposit or prepayment arrangement prior to admission. Before you leave the hospital after discharge, you can make payment by cash, personal check, Visa or MasterCard at the Cashier's Office or make credit arrangements with the hospital Credit Office at extension 9272.

O'Bleness Memorial Hospital provides healthcare services without charge to eligible persons who cannot afford to pay for care. These services are limited to medically necessary hospital care and are available to people whose family meets the hospital's program requirements.

Physician Billing
You will receive a separate bill for professional services from each physician involved in your care, which may include your radiologist, anesthesiologist, pathologist, emergency department physician, personal physician, and any physician asked by your personal physician to consult on your case. If you have questions about these bills, please call the number printed on the statements you receive from these physicians.

Medical Records
If you are over the age of 18, you may obtain a copy of your medical record by calling our Medical Records Department at (740) 592-9388. Identification must be provided when records are picked up. A parent's or legal guardian's signature is required to obtain medical records for any patient under the age of 18.
