The O’Bleness Wound Care Center offers advanced, specialized outpatient treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds that have resisted other treatments.
More than seven million people in the U.S. suffer from chronic or non-healing wounds. Many of these problem wounds are associated with complications from diabetes, cardiovascular or circulatory disorders. Services at the Center are especially crucial in southeastern Ohio, in part due to the high incidence of diabetes and an aging population.
The Center offers the most technologically advanced wound care therapy through multiple diagnostic and treatment modalities. Services offered or coordinated include vascular evaluation, physical therapy, infectious disease management, laboratory evaluation, nutrition counseling, skin grafting, pain management, diabetic education, nuclear medicine, radiology and wound debridement.
Treatment options also include hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), a procedure in which a patient breathes 100% oxygen while relaxing in a pressurized chamber. This delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the bloodstream and the wound, which rapidly accelerates the healing process.
Patients may be referred to the Center by their primary care physician or can be self-referred. Regular patient status reports are sent to physicians whose patients are under the center,s care.
O’Bleness is collaborating with Healogics, an experienced organization with more than 300 wound care centers nationwide. According to DCS, advanced techniques and proven clinical procedures have led to outstanding healing rates and a 95% patient satisfaction rating. Most insurance companies cover the costs associated with wound care treatment, including Medicare and workers’ compensation.
