O’Bleness Memorial Hospital has provided healthcare services to the residents of southeastern Ohio since 1921. The hospital originally opened as Sheltering Arms Hospital to provide maternity care.
Throughout the decades, O’Bleness has kept pace with advances in healthcare technology and undergone extensive modernization to keep its facilities up-to-date. Today, O’Bleness offers a broad range of services for all ages, with highly trained and experienced healthcare professionals.
Continuing the hospital’s tradition of maternity care, nearly 600 babies are born each year in O’Bleness’ Birth Center. Inpatient care includes pediatric, medical, surgical and critical care patient units. The O’Bleness Emergency Department cares for more than 26,000 patients each year. The hospital continues to invest extensively in a comprehensive array of diagnostic technologies. The diverse medical staff includes specialists offering a wide range of surgical procedures, treatment options and therapies. Nutrition counseling, diabetes management and community health promotion are among the variety of education services provided.
O’Bleness continues its commitment to meeting the immediate and future healthcare needs of residents of our region, including those without the ability to pay for services. The hospital has been and will remain the cornerstone of the O’Bleness Health System.
